Lost & Found acts strictly as an intermediary platform. We provide the technical infrastructure to connect individuals who have lost possessions with those who have found them.
- Intermediary Only: We do not take possession of items reported on our platform.
- Direct Interaction: All interactions, communications, and exchanges are conducted directly between users.
- No Ownership Verification: We do not verify the legal ownership of items posted. It is the sole responsibility of the users to establish item ownership before any exchange.
2. No Guarantee
While we strive to facilitate a helpful ecosystem, Lost & Found explicitly disclaims any guarantee of:
- Item Recovery: Reporting a lost item does not guarantee its recovery or return.
- Reward Payment: We do not guarantee that rewards offered by owners will be paid by them.
- Safety: We cannot guarantee the safety or intent of any user you meet offline.
3. User Responsibilities
By accessing our services, you agree to the following obligations:
- Accuracy: You must provide truthful and accurate information in all reports and communications.
- Ownership Verification: You are responsible for verifying the authenticity of any claim before returning or accepting an item.
- Safety Rules: You agree to follow our Safety Guidelines, including meeting only in public places.
- Lawful Use: You will not use the platform for any unlawful purpose or to facilitate any illegal activity.
4. User Generated Content (UGC)
You are solely responsible for the content you post, including text descriptions, images, and chat messages. By uploading content, you grant Lost & Found a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use and display that content as needed to provide our matching services.
5. Offline Meeting Disclaimer
Meetings arranged between users to exchange items are conducted strictly at your own risk. Lost & Found and its affiliates are not responsible for any incidents, accidents, or losses that may occur during these offline interactions. We recommend meeting during daylight hours in high-traffic public locations.
6. Reward Disclaimer
Any rewards offered for the return of an item are voluntary agreements between users. Lost & Found does not handle payments, escrow services, or legal mediation regarding rewards. Any disputes over rewards must be resolved directly between the parties involved.
7. Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account action:
- Fake Listings: Reporting items that were never lost or found.
- Illegal Items: Posting or attempting to exchange prohibited or illegal goods.
- Fraud: Misrepresenting ownership or identity to obtain items or rewards.
- Harassment: Any form of abuse, stalking, or inappropriate messaging.
- Impersonation: Claiming to be a platform administrator or another person.
- Spam: Using the platform for advertising or unsolicited commercial content.
8. Account Suspension
Lost & Found reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account and remove any of your content at our sole discretion, without prior notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms of Service or posed a risk to our community.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lost & Found shall not be liable for:
- User Disputes: Conflicts or disagreements between users regarding items or rewards.
- Offline Events: Any occurrence during an in-person meeting arranged through the platform.
- Scams & Fraud: Any financial or emotional loss resulting from fraudulent user activity.
- Data Loss: The loss of any data or item information stored on our servers.
10. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India for any legal disputes arising from these terms.
11. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by following the instructions in your profile settings. Lost & Found also reserves the right to discontinue or suspend our services at any time without liability.
12. Updates
We may revise these Terms of Service from time to time. The most current version will always be posted on this page. Continued use of the platform after updates indicates your acceptance of the revised terms.
