1. Platform Intermediary Role
Lost & Found acts strictly as an intermediary platform under Section 79 of the IT Act. Our primary function is to provide a space where individuals can report lost and found items. We do not take possession of any items, nor do we verify the ownership or identity of our users. Use of the platform is at your own risk.
2. No Responsibility for User Disputes
We are not responsible for any disputes that may arise between users of the platform. This includes, but is not limited to, disagreements over:
- Item Ownership: Conflicting claims over who is the rightful owner of an item.
- Condition of Items: Discrepancies in the condition of an item upon return.
- Authenticity: Whether an item is genuine or a counterfeit.
3. No Offline Meeting Liability
Any meetings arranged between users to exchange items are conducted entirely at the users' own risk. Lost & Found, its employees, and its affiliates are not liable for any incidents, accidents, injuries, theft, or other losses occurring during or as a result of these offline interactions. We strongly recommend following our Safety Guidelines for all exchanges.
4. No Item Recovery Guarantee
While our matching technology and community are designed to help, we do not guarantee the recovery of any lost item. The platform is a tool to facilitate communication; we are not responsible if an item is not found, or if a finder chooses not to return an item.
5. No Reward Liability
Lost & Found does not manage, process, or guarantee any rewards offered by users. Any financial arrangements are strictly between the individual users. We are not liable for:
- Non-payment: If a user fails to pay a promised reward.
- Reward Disputes: Disagreements over the amount or condition of a reward.
- Fraudulent Offers: Bait-and-switch reward schemes.
6. Use of Information
The information on this platform is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not make any warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any user-generated content or reports.
